Keri & Ryan's Graham Chapel Wedding

When you make plans for a July 27 wedding in St. Louis, you pretty much expect the day to be hot - the sweltering, humid, 100+ degree kind of heat. Keri and Ryan are one lucky couple, and their wedding day was temperate, sunny, and all-together gorgeous. A perfect day for a wonderful couple. For Keri and Ryan's Graham Chapel wedding, we were blessed with amazing weather, beautiful locations, a blissfully happy couple, and one extremely fun wedding party. Keri and Ryan are simply incredible together. They are so happy, so in love, and so good to each other. I love photographing weddings:  it is an incredible thing to see a couple say their vows and then celebrate with those they love. Keri and Ryan's wedding was an awesome example of that. From their wonderfully personal ceremony to watching Keri's grandmother jam to her favorite song (Celebrate!), this was an incredible day. We had such a hard time narrowing down our favorites to post on the blog - I think you'll see why. Our most sincere congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Horn! We were honored to be a part of your wedding day!

A Trip to the Canadian Rockies

This July, Andy and I took a long awaited vacation to the Canadian Rockies. We carved out 10 days in our schedules and jetted off, just in time to land in Calgary for Canada Day (we were given maple shaped chocolates upon our arrival - go Canada!). As we traveled through Banff, Golden, and Jasper in our shiny rental Dodge Journey, we stayed in B&B's, stopped at almost every overlook, and pulled over with the rest of the tourists to see bears, elk, and mountain goats on the side of the roads. Super fun. Canada was awesome and almost surreal - huge mountains surrounded by aquamarine lakes with glaciers topping surrounding peaks. A friend asked if we had photoshopped the water in a pic we posted to facebook, but nope - all the colors are real. In fact, some locals told us that they wished we had gotten to see the color of the water in its full glory (as some recent rain apparently made it less vibrant....how is that even possible??). We went canoeing on Moraine Lake, hiked 10 miles at Lake Louise, stood in the spray of Takkakaw Falls, grabbed drinks at the Banff Springs Hotel, chilled in hot springs, traveled by horse, and saw some pretty cool wildlife that I previously had only seen in Nat Geo. Here are some of our favorite photos:

Brittany & Keith - Laumeier Sculpture Park Wedding Photography

Brittany and Keith were married at Laumeier Sculpture Park on a gorgeous summer day. From the first time we met with Brittany and her mom, we have been so excited to see all the details for this day come together (and for their Laumeier Sculpture Park wedding photography!). When Brittany told us about her style, the types of images she liked best, and the awesome Laumeier Park wedding she was planning, we knew it would be an amazing day. Brittany wore a flowing chiffon gown for their outdoor ceremony, and she wore her hair down in loose curls with a stunning headpiece. Later, for the reception, she switched into a fun, feathery reception dress, perfect for dancing. For their Laumeier Scupture Park wedding photography, we stopped by some nearby sculptures, and we love how the sculptures add a thoroughly modern aesthetic to their images. For their guestbook, Brittany and Keith had guests sign the mat of a framed caricature of themselves on their wedding day (super cool idea!). After a brief bout of rain, the temperatures cooled down, and the party went on without a hitch - full of delicious food, awesome music, and the couple's nearest and dearest. What an amazing day - congratulations, Brittany and Keith!

Ryan & John's Wedding - Forest Park Golf Course Wedding Photography

On June 29, John and Ryan tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at St. Cecilia's and afterward, they celebrated with their nearest and dearest at the Norman K. Probstein Golf Course at Forest Park. Forest Park Golf Course wedding photography is some of the best! It is so awesome to be so close to all the locations in Forest Park. Forest Park wedding photography is an awesome bonus of St. Louis - it's such a gorgeous and large park. What an amazing wedding! John and Ryan are such an awesome couple - they are such fun, lovely, and genuinely kind people. Ryan made an absolutely stunning bride, and she was so laid back about the whole day. To complement her classic gown and pearl hairpiece, Ryan wore some wicked silver Nike Dunks (seriously, how awesome is that?). Ryan figured that since her shoes wouldn't show anyway, she might as well be comfortable. With the groom in a classic tux and bow-tie, John and Ryan had a timelessly elegant and classic look. Luckily, the rain held off for most of the day, and we love the images we captured from their gorgeous day. A special thank you to Rob, Janelle, John, and Keri for being so lovely and gracious to us throughout the wedding day!

Congratulations, John & Ryan! We loved being a part of your wedding.
